The Key to Living a Life of Everlasting Happiness

Many might believe love of self is the key, and they would not be wrong. However, it is so much more than that.

The real key is self rapport and rapport with life, and the path to that is to take a position of “being okay” to the present reality, all of it.

Rapport is based in creature level neurology. All living animals must learn how to survive in this world and humans are no different only, for us, it is a bit more complicated. Once survival patterns are learned, there is no question what is safe, unknown, or dangerous in the world. For a deer, the smell of a lion, or a distant roar, or even seeing a lion puts them in danger and they react – without question – and immediately run away from it.

It is no different for you or I. What is different is the experiences we learn to survive tend to be the experiences we live over and over again and are emotional rather than real physical danger. As terrible as it may sound, once we learn to survive emotional abuse, we tend to experience that abuse over and over again because having learned to survive it and no matter how painful, we know how to survive it. To break that pattern, that is if you want to surround yourself with loving and caring people, you will need to learn that they are survivable. Your critter brain will have to learn that love and caring are survivable. Remember the creature needs to learn, not your spirit. We need to learn how to update our survival skills, we need to learn to use our spirit to be one with the body and then awaken to the one you may call source to whom we all belong.

So the path to a more happy life is acceptance, but more than that and not even that actually. Imagine you are crossing a gorge with dangerous rapids flowing below you and you see a couple of fallen trees and wanting to get across you choose to use them to cross. So you test them and they seem sturdy enough to carry your weight, and so you begin. When you reach the halfway point you start to hear cracking wood. Does the log care if you accept it, it neither cares or not care. It is just a fallen tree. It means nothing to the log. But now you have to decide the best actions to get safely back to ground.

The first step all creatures do when faced with the unknown is to freeze and then examine the possibilities and take the action that they decide is the best course of action.

So you see the part of you that learns to survive abuse does not care whether you accept it or no longer want to experience it, it just follows how to survive the way it always has.

To be in rapport with self is to learn your survival strategies and skills and realize this is your starting point. You become aware so that when “you log cracks” you realize you are at a choice point in your life. And the best way to do that is to be aware when you are about to have a moment of “I don’t like” or maybe in the very beginning or after you have survived again. And then you say to yourself, “Okay this is where I am and what would I like to experience and what choices might I make to begin to get me there”.

No amount of I don’t want or fear, doubt, guilt, or shame will help. This is merely your creature neurology sending messages of potential danger to the aspects of you in charge of safety of the body not spirit. They are not meant for the big YOU, the you called spirit!

Learning behaviors to live with a loving supporting universe is possible. You merely have to say Okay to what is and ask what “would I like now”.

The body will one day die. Please do not wait that long to realize there was never anything to fear…even fear itself.

To create heaven on Earth is to start exactly where we are right NOW!
