The Human Being Experience

To better understand the human being experience, it may be helpful to define balance and out-of-balance among the mind, body, and spirit.

To live a life in balance is to live a life of love of self, others, and the universe at large. Resistance or the experience of not wanting or liking your life is a sure sign that you are not living a life of love.

All of us desire to live in peace, joy, harmony, and happiness. This balance cannot be achieved by the body or the mind but only by the spirit. The spirit creates the balance or harmony between mind, body, and spirit. Each aspect of being a human being has their own needs and desires, and the more we support and encourage these needs and help them to be achieved, the happier we become.

The mind exists in the world of meaning, the body in a life of survival, and the spirit in love.

The mind seeks to learn and understand. As it learns in the microcosm of exploration, it begins to apply meaning to experience. Once learned, the meanings are rarely revisited unless something happens that challenges the meanings made.

Our minds have evolved over time. The most primitive part of our brain is the reptilian part found in the base and lower stem. Above that is the earlier mammalian brain where feelings are first experienced. This is the part of the brain sometimes called the critter or creature brain. This is the part that generates feelings of fear and anger that is in response to a perceived threat to our survival. This will be further explained in the discussion below about the body.

What makes us unique is the prefrontal lobes which makes us human and differentiates us from most of the animal world. This is the creative side of being a human being. It is our ability to use our imagination to create worlds of possibility. Ultimately, this is the main driver of this aspect, to create. It allows us to create a life and experiences that allow us to experience joy and happiness. As long as we are learning and creating, we are happy.

The body, as in all creatures, is to survive as long as possible. To learn the dangers of the world and how to survive them. This is easier for some creatures, much harder for others, and most complicated for humans.

Once faced with potential danger to life, all creatures will do their best to survive and learn their rules for survival. Once learned they will forever operate exactly the same when the same potential danger occurs and will do so automatically. So when a gazelle smells the presence of a lion, or sees a blade of grass bending towards the wind and not away, or beholds the sight of a lion, they will immediately run.

So the rules of survival operate and serve their purpose quite well until a new or changed danger happens and new rules are created. This is why fire walking or standing on top of a tree a hundred feet in the air work. If the person 100% believes their life is in imminent danger and the way they learn to survive works, they may update their life in a way they are more happy.

For a human, it is far more complicated to create our rules of survival. It is the human mind that most, if not all, these rules of survival are learned before the age of five, at a time where our life experience has more limited choices. But if you are reading this, then what decisions your mind made worked because you are still living and have survived.

The spirit’s main desire is to receive and give love. Through love, it experiences joy, peace, and happiness.

Through the spirit we create our happiness and, from a place of love, it will let the mind and body have whatever experience they desire from a place of love and without judgement, and with the best of intentions for each aspect to discover their path to happiness. The spirit is the place of unboundless opportunity to manifest a life of our choosing.

The biggest obstacle to happiness is our relationship and understanding of what it means to survive.

What would happen from the place where you are now if you were to re-examine and re-decide your original rules of survival?

For example, after countless times, you were told you are stupid or not good enough, and the pain of receiving that message from Mom or Dad, that in your re-deciding realized that they were only dealing with their own troubles in life and their inability to teach and help their child to learn. They were so frustrated that they could not. Realizing this was just their frustration and that it meant nothing about you, what would you then decide about you? Are you really stupid or not good enough?

To learn starts from a place of understanding this is where I am and nothing is wrong with me. From a place of knowing, I am ready to learn, love, and above all be happy.

I am truly sorry for all of us that it was so hard to survive those terrifying moments in life and it really should not have been that way.

Whenever you feel emotional pain, fear, and anger, it is only an opportunity to re-examine those long forgotten moments to really discover the truth about you. The truth I know is that in every moment of pain, you can find a place of peace and love, and an appreciation of just how resilient you were to make it.

When you choose I don’t like or don’t want, the universe does not understand or hear the word ‘not’. Instead it hears I like and want the pain.

Happiness awaits you any time you choose it and, for the spirit, happiness is its only choice, so it is perfectly happy to allow the brain and the body to experience pain. After all that would be the loving thing to do.
