The Decision

Every experience in life begins with a decision, either consciously or unconsciously. That is what free will is all about, the ability for us to decide and choose.
It is important to note that
- the universe will always give you the experience you ask for; and
- the universe does not understand “no” or “not”.
So if you say I don’t want to be depressed any longer, what the universe actually hears is “I want to be depressed” and it responds with “…OK”.
It is also helpful to notice the verbs you use in stating your desires . Saying, I want to find my happiness in life is far different than, I will or I am ready for happiness. I have noticed when people say things like, I want to get a new job or I want to lose weight or I want to find a good relationship, that they are still stuck in wanting. For me, it is a structure of hope that one day I will be happy, but just not yet.
This might be a good time to look at your past and notice all the times you stated something you wanted and how that worked for you.
I also have noticed that people will rationalize behavior they want to change with “Well, I will start tomorrow.” And then tomorrow becomes another tomorrow, until finally you give up.
To start this journey requires you to decide to find your happiness and nothing else is acceptable.
This decision is important so that, during times of challenge, you always will pick yourself up and get back on the path.
My journey started with I will and must find my happiness!
I can’t help remembering the scene from The Matrix with the choice of choosing the red pill or blue pill. It truly is a decision in waking up or letting life happen to you. But it is your choice.
I know one day we all will have chosen the red pill and it is your choice.
Are you ready to decide?
